Generation Women

Generation Women

July 11 - July 11, 2024

Generation Women is a multigenerational storytelling night that invites a woman or non-binary performer in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s+ to share an original true story on a theme. Our diverse line-ups will make you laugh, cry, and reflect on the cycle of life. The mission of Generation Women is to amplify underheard voices, and create space for intergenerational connection and community. All are welcome to join us. Hosted by Georgia Clark.

Best Of
It’s that time again! We’re bringing our highlights and greatest hits to Joe’s Pub for a “Best Of” night of storytelling. This can’t-miss evening will showcase a multigenerational (and multitalented) ensemble and a stacked line-up of fabulous, feel-good stories guaranteed to stick with you.

Team 20s: Sunny Laprade is a comedian based in New York City. She was a finalist in the 2023 P3 Comedy Festival and is currently competing as a semi-finalist in the 2023 New York Queer Comedy Festival. Her first standup comedy special, Queer Enough, is available now.

Team 30s: Narie Foster was born to Thai and Canadian scientists who balked when she gave up her corporate career to make theater. Her solo show ‘1 in a Chameleon’ will debut at the Edinburgh Fringe. Previously, she studied engineering at Cornell, consulted at Bain, and co-founded the fashion brand M.M.LaFleur.

Team 40s: Mara Mindell lives in Austin, Texas. She’s been a conference planner, an actor, and a certified HR professional. She’s written several promising book titles and is currently working on her first book.

Team 50s: Sara Stansberry is a storyteller, writer, and certified life coach who helps women craft extraordinary second acts. Sara writes a Substack called How To Blow Up Your Life and is currently writing her debut book, "How To Blow Up Your Life in 3 Simple Steps," which will be released in June 2025.

Team 60s: Joan Weisblatt is a former lawyer and stand up comedian. She now spends most of her time taking care of other people whether they need it or not, and mostly when they don’t want it. You can find her “How to Clean During Covid” instructional videos on YouTube.

Team 70s: Elinor Lipman is the award-winning author of 16 books of fiction and nonfiction, including Then She Found Me, The Inn at Lake Devine, and most recently, Ms. Demeanor. Her personal essays have appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, and in her collection,  I Can’t Complain.  She was also a finalist for the 2023 Thurber Prize for American Humor.
